“Christian terrorism does not exist, Jewish terrorism does not exist, and Muslim terrorism does not exist. They do not exist,” Francis said in his speech to a world meeting of populist movements.
What he apparently meant is that not all Christians are terrorists and not all Muslims are terrorists—a fact evident to all—yet his words also seemed to suggest that no specifically Islamic form of terrorism exists in the world, an assertion that stands in stark contradiction to established fact
I wonder if the Cardinals who elected Pope Francis had any idea what they were in for. It almost looks like they elected him to bring down the church. Like America, you can’t destroy her externally, but you can certainly bring her down from within. Francis seems to be a populist Pope, doesn’t he? He says what you want to hear, whether it’s aligned with the truth and scripture or not.
I’ve mentioned before that I thought that the Catholic Church needed to modernize on such stances as birth control. It seems that they have swung way too far in the other direction now. Something that I thought that I would never see from them. I guess that it just goes to show you that you can’t be too sure about anything.
It’s hard to fathom that he actually believes that no religions promote or drive terrorism. Islam is built around it in some parts of the world and it seems to promote it where ever it resides. He left too much open to speculation here so if you take his word directly, he seems completely out of touch or in denial. In a position such as his, you would think that he would have thought this through a little better before putting it out there. Again, he may be simply trying to appease the terrorist nations but I can’t see what the gain would be. What do you think?
